Anybody been to the Grand Lido recently? I thought I had my honeymoon choices narrowed down to Couples Sweptaway and the Whitehouse but Superclubs' recent sale has thrown another resort in the mix. Any feedback would be appreciated. |

I just returned last night from Negril (stayed at Sandals) and did a sight inspection at Grande Lido Negril and Swept Away. I did like the resort. It has a dressier feel. At the Japanese restaurant, men need a jacket. There is a very nice beach at one end of the property. Then the cove area with mini-cliffs. Then, by the clothing optional section, is a smaller beach. All rooms have 24 hour room service and either a shower with multi-heads or a jacuzzi. So you may want to specify which one you prefer. There are also plazma tvs, cd players and mini-bars with alcohol. Golf is included. I did hear a couple commenting that they had just walked by Sandals Negril and the Sandals guests were having way more fun! Let me know if you have specific questions on any of the resorts. You can pm me. Mary Jane, TA |

I stayed at the GLN about 7 years ago. It is a great resort. The food was excellent and the beach was beautiful. That was before they built a few new resorts over on Bloody Bay where it is located, so I'm not sure if it has changed at all. The service was great too. They had bar service on the beach and they also would walk around and ask you if you want a "spritz" while you are laying in the sun, they would spritz you down with a water bottle.... |

They staff doesn't interact with you the same way they do at a Sandals. |
